The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Basketball Tournament is the nation’s second largest college basketball tournament, bringing in 200,000+ fans and tastemakers to Charlotte, NC every year and creating an estimated $44.3 Million Dollar economic boost to the area. The tournament brings 11 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) to Charlotte for a huge “homecoming” of sorts for alumni, fans, and general tastemakers – who take part in the events and nostalgic reunions that take place during the week.
